Community Care and Social Support

Many people who have a disabling condition can feel isolated and lonely. Their goal can often be to meet people and undertake many activities within their own community, this can range from:

  • going to college
  • taking up a sporting activity
  • going to watch football matches
  • going to drama classes
  • going to work
  • visiting family and friends
  • going out for coffee etc.

Part of the role for Care Workers therefore is to support people to consider what they want to do with their lives and help to make this happen by providing whatever level of support is necessary.
